ABOUT

for anchorman: the legend of ron burgandy, many of the actors, as well as Will Ferell, were well versed in the art of improvisation and would sometimes do up to 20 different versions of reaction lines trying out the first thing that popped into their heads.

there were no white castles in the filming location of harold and kumar go to white castle so a building was trucked in for filming.

for the character of sonny the accused robot in i, robot, the effects team used the same process that was used to create gollum in the lord of the rings: the two towers.

very early on in hellboy's preproduction, the filmmakers considered putting hellboy's giant stone hand on his left arm rather than the right, so as to grant the actor playing hellboy the full use of his right hand. star ron perlman proved to be left-handed, so the filmmakers were able to preserve the "right hand of doom."

13 going on 30 was shipped to theatres under the name "sugar and spice" to hide the picture's real name and allow it to arrive in secret.

About My Reviews:

When you read my reviews, be prepared to jump right into the action. I don't usually spend many lines on what the story is about. If you want to know the basics of the plot, there should be a short summary of the film on the right side of each review page. I get these from the imdb, and they're pretty short. if you want more specifics, I suggest you visit that site: Internet Movie Data Base, because I figure they've got the best handle on movie info. And if you're reading one of my reviews, chances are you already know what the movie's about anyhow.

Should you be reading my reviews?

I write my reviews to be read by all types of people, and create them hoping that they never seem too complicated or snobby. There's nothing worse than a movie reviewer who thinks all his readers are Cornell graduates. So when you read my reviews, they should tell you a little bit about my impressions about the movie, why or why I don't believe you should see it, and some movie info that you might not find by just watching the film.

Who am I?

My name is Kelsey Wyatt and I am a 28 year old writer in living Southern California. I received my MFA in screenwriting in May of 2003. Am I qualified to write reviews? Well, academically, I might be. But I also like movies of all shapes and sizes, and have been an avid movie-goer since I saw Return of the Jedi when I was four and a half years old. To put it mildly, I love film, plain and simple, never mind that I've spent thousands of dollars learning all about it....

Me:

Me, obviously.

Can I put you in contact with your favorite movie star?

NO, I CANNOT CONTACT YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE STAR FOR YOU! Most of the questions I get from readers involve some sort of plea for the contact information for an actor or director. I do not know any of the people who make these films. I have no idea how to contact Brad Pitt, I do not know Michael Bay's phone number, and there's no way I can get an original draft of The Others for you. There are several celebrity contact sites on the internet. I suggest you visit one of those sites to find your information!

Can you post my review elsewhere?

NO! I don't get paid for this and neither should you. I do have an existing agreement with one website whose programmer I have allowed to post my reviews as part of a review hub, but this is my only current agreement regarding full-length postings. I have also traded links with several sites and am indexed in various review hubs that provide links to my site. Now, if you contact me ahead of time, I just might let you quote me - but if I find my words on your site without my permission, I will get the Heffalumps after you.

Do I take requests?

Is there a movie in theaters or on DVD that you would like my opinion on? I am trying to see everything released theatrically, but if there is a movie I've passed over (because of time), I will still see it if enough people are interested in what I have to say on that film.

How to support my site:

The cost of my site is minimal, though I do pay for bandwidth, hosting space, and my domain name. If you'd like to support these costs, please use the links located throughout my site to Amazon.com and I'll get referral fees from your purchases!

How much does it cost to go to all these movies?

My main source of idiotic financial drain is movie tickets. I try to attend matinee showings at a couple theaters nearby and am lucky enough to find six and six-twenty five dollar prices in the usually expensive region of Los Angeles. I see upwards of a hundred and fifty movies in the theater every year. So, assuming I attend only matinee showings, that's about 900 bucks a year. Pretty pricey habit I've got.
